Celebrating Christianity
'Learning and growing together as we follow Christ'
We are proud of our Christian Values: Love, Faith, Hope. We have worked together to get a true understanding of what they mean in simple terms to us:
Love - can bring together community, respect, tolerance, forgiveness, service, kindness, cooperation, generosity, wisdom
Bible story: Good Samaritan, Luke 10:25-37
Bible verse: "Love never gives up" 1 Co 13.7 (New Living Translation)
Faith - can bring together belief in God, knowing we're part of something bigger than ourselves, wonder, humility, commitment to truth (because sticking to the truth often requires faith and courage)
Bible story: the healing of the daughter of Jairus and the sick woman, Luke 8:40-56
Bible verse: "faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see", Hebrews 11.1 (New International version)
Hope - can bring together aspiration, learning, care for the environment, confidence in oneself, trust in others, perseverance, working for justice, ambition (of the good kind)
Bible story: The calling of Abraham, Genesis 12.1-3
Bible verse: "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.", Jeremiah 29.11 (New Living Translation)
Our Christian values serve as guidance and support us to aspire to becoming better people: Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety- Proverbs 11:14.
They support our ‘Tittensor Family’ in making considered choices that shape the ethos of our school. Our values underpin everything that we do in our school community and church, following in the footsteps of the Lord and use his guidance to help us on our journey.
Our Christian values permeate our everyday life and are taught in our daily lessons.
Our School Council have put our values into child-friendly definitions:
Love – Being kind, helpful and trustworthy showing love to all and to God.
Faith – To believe in something good like God, each other and in our world.
Hope – Caring and trusting in everyone and our world so that we have a good future.
